About
Craiova is a large town in the south of Romania, about 300 km from the capital, Bucharest. It has many stray dogs and cats, partly due to the authorities' inefficient animal control and
partly due to irresponsible owners who abandon their cats or dogs when they can no longer care for them.
Why?
Growing up I used to see abandoned cats and dogs everywhere: at street corners, in parking lots, in dumpsters and even begging for food outside the supermarket entrance. I felt heartbroken
and angry until one day, when I decided to turn my feelings into action and I started to take them home. This was back in 2002 and since then I amazed a total of 60 dogs and cats for which I
care every day.
Who they are?
Some of them - like
Uta and
Aggie
were strays. Others, like
Tiganca are abused
animals which I rescued from the hands of cruel and irresponsible owners. I have a day job to help pay for the animal vet care, food and shelter and I dedicate the little spare time I have to my
animals: feeding them, cleaning after them, playing with them and showing them the care and affection which they so much deserve.
ADOPT DON'T SHOP
I feel attached to all the animals I rescue but because I can't keep them all, I'm trying to find loving adoptive families for them, with whom they can spend the rest of their lives.
If - like me - you love cats and dogs and believe that they should receive nothing less than the love and affection they give us, then please ADOPT DON'T SHOP.
